Film stereoview
Tag: GlossaryA film stereoview is a transparency in which the images of the stereo pair are printed on a plastic film strip or roll. Compared to glass stereoviews, the main advantage is that plastic is unbreakable, although maintaining flatness can be a challenge. Prints on plastic sheets were commercially sold by George Bruguière from 1946 onwards.
Prior to the World War II, film stereoviews were much rarer than glass stereoviews. Stereoviews on film rolls are especially rare. The Homéos and the Stéréoscope Idéal are examples of stereoscopes designed for film roll.
