Le Stéréoscope Idéal is a stereoscope designed for viewing stereoviews printed on a film roll. The viewer was specifically produced for the news publisher Stéréo-Revue.

Operation:
The film roll has a width of approximately 10 cm and contains 25 stereoviews. The stereoviews are a fraction smaller than the 45 × 107 format. The film must be wound onto one of the stereoscope’s rollers. These rollers are not removable, which makes the loading process somewhat cumbersome. Once wound, the end of the roll is attached to a second roller. Using a rotary knob, the stereoviews can be viewed one by one. After viewing, the roll must be fully unwound again before another roll can be used.
