Claude-Marie Ferrier worked as a photographer for Jules Duboscq. He produced the first stereo daguerreotypes and glass stereoviews for Duboscq’s stereoscopes. In 1854 Ferrier continued as an independent photographer and focused on producing and publishing high-quality glass stereoviews made in France and neighbouring countries.
In 1859 he founded the company Ferrier père, fils et Soulier together with his son Alexandre and Charles Soulier. Soulier contributed glass stereoviews from his earlier collaboration with Athanase Clouzard.
Ferrier père, fils et Soulier became a leading publisher of high-quality glass stereoviews in France and England. In 1864 the company was sold and continued as Léon & Lévy.
