John Frederick Newman was a manufacturer of scientific instruments. He assisted Charles Wheatstone in 1832 in the development of his first stereoscopes. Newman also made and sold reflecting stereoscopes based on Wheatstone’s design. His company was acquired by Negretti & Zambra in 1862.
