Stéréodrome

Le Stéréodrome is a robust stereoscope with a heavy-duty and reliable construction. The device exhibits a stable design that remained in production into the 1930s without significant modifications. Only the projection-lamp model exhibits minor external differences and a slightly altered mechanical arrangement.

The first patent for the viewer dates from 1896 and was not registered by Gaumont. It appears that Gaumont acquired the design and further developed it. Notably, the initial design predates the Taxiphote, the viewer that is generally regarded as the first tray-based stereoscope.
