Tabletop stereoscopes are larger viewers intended to be placed on a table or desk. This category includes multi-view stereoscopes with chain-based and tray-based mechanisms. Hand-held stereoscopes are sometimes equipped with a stand that allows them to be used as a tabletop viewer. These pedestal stereoscopes are also classified as tabletop.
