Single-view stereoscope

Tag: Glossary

A single-view stereoscope is designed to display only one stereoview at a time. Each stereoview is inserted, viewed, and then removed individually. The vast majority of stereoscopes produced are single-view, which also applies to most hand-held stereoscopes. The advantage of a single-view stereoscope is that it does not require a complex mechanism for rotating multiple stereoviews, making it compact and easy to use.
