Projection

Some manufacturers of tray-based and chain-based stereoscopes for glass stereoviews offered a projection lamp and lenses as optional accessories. With these, it was possible to project the stereoviews onto a screen, effectively turning the stereoscope into a magic lantern. The projected images could be viewed without the stereoscopic depth effect.

It was possible to view projected stereoviews with depth. A stereoview could be projected onto a screen using a single projector or with two projectors, each projecting one of the images of the stereo pair. The projected image could then be viewed with specialised hand-held stereoscopes, such as the Stéréo-Project.
