Hyalotype is the name of the glass transparency developed by the Langenheim brothers in 1848 for use in the magic lantern projector. The transparencies were presented at the Great Exhibition of 1851. Observing the Hyalotype is reported to have inspired Jules Duboscq to develop glass stereoviews.
