Homéoscope

L'Homéoscope was a stereoscope by Jules Richard for formats larger than 45 x 107. In the early years, Richard used the name Vérascope exclusively for products intended for the compact 45 x 107 format. The name Homéoscope allowed him to differentiate products designed for other formats from those branded as Vérascope. An early 6 x 13 stereoscope by Richard would therefore bear the designation “Stéréoscope, vues prises avec l’Homéoscope” rather than the more common “Stéréoscope, vues prises avec le Vérascope”.

At a later stage, this distinction was no longer maintained, and products for other formats were also distributed under the Vérascope name.

The Homéoscope should not be confused with Homéos, the stereo camera system and associated stereoscopes introduced by Richard from 1913 onwards.
