Half-stereo

Half-stereo refers to a presentation format in which only one image of a stereo pair is used. Half-stereo images were employed by publishers for the production of magic lantern slides. By using a stereo negative, publishers could produce both stereoviews and corresponding lantern slides from the same negative.
