The Taxiphote modèle simplifié was a lower-cost version of the standard Taxiphote. The viewer employed a crank-driven mechanism and, unlike the standard Taxiphote, supported bidirectional navigation. The initial model did not include ocular adjustment, although this feature was introduced in later versions. The viewer was not supplied with a cabinet for storing boxed collections. Cabinets were available as optional accessories.
