The Stéréo-Mondain has an attractive appearance, and the ground glass is positioned approximately 1.5 cm behind the stereoview, which improves the illumination of the image.
A notable aspect of the Stéréo-Mondain is that one of its designers was a woman. Charlotte Bélin Jeune patented the design for this simple stereoscope, together with Émile Chassereux.
