Lyons patent
Region: United Kingdom Period: 1850–1890Joseph Lyons’ design combines a stereoscope with movable coloured glass filters placed between the eyepieces and the stereoviews. The coloured filters can be rotated into the line of sight to create different colour effects while viewing an ordinary stereoview. The stereoscope is mounted on an adjustable stand that also carried a lamp for illuminating the image.
