Isostereo

Region: Germany    Period: 1890–1930
Stereoscope type: Hand-held » Single-view » Holmes-Bates

The Isostereo was a Holmes–Bates type stereoscope specially designed for viewing Chromoplast-Bilder. The strong magnification of ordinary stereoscopes made the printed screen pattern of the Chromoplast images visible. In the Isostereo, the distance between the lenses and the stereoview was increased, preventing the screen pattern from becoming visible.
