Floor-standing stereoscopes are the largest category of stereoscopes and are designed to be placed on the floor. They are primarily chain-based stereoscopes and typically accommodate 100 or 200 stereoviews. The floor-standing stereoscope was primarily manufactured in France and was likely intended mainly for use at exhibitions. Beautifully decorated examples exist.
