Fixed focus

In the context of stereoscopes and stereo cameras, fixed focus means that the optical system has no user-adjustable focusing mechanism. The lenses are set at a predetermined focal distance chosen by the manufacturer. Fixed focus is primarily found in less expensive viewers or in robust stereoscopes intended for use in public spaces, such as coin-operated stereoscopes.
