Émile Cuny was a photographer, cabinetmaker, and manufacturer of photographic products. In 1907, he patented, together with Maurice Delécaille and Paul Sorel, a mechanism for a tray-based stereoscope. The stereoscope was marketed by Delécaille and Sorel under the Hemdé brand, but it was manufactured by Cuny. Cuny also manufactured and distributed stereoscopes based on the same mechanism under his own name.
