The Camerascope was a clone of the German Indupor Taschen-Stereoskop. The English patent number of the Indupor is printed on the viewer. The device was intended for the British market and was distributed by Camerascopes Ltd., together with the publisher’s commercial stereoviews. Camerascopes Ltd may also have manufactured the viewer under licence.

The Camerascope was also distributed by Sunbeam Tours and Cavenders Ltd, and possibly by other publishers. Numerous rebranded versions of the Camerascope also exist, customised for companies as promotional advertising items.
