Boxed stereoviews are larger collections of stereoviews that were sold as a single set. In the United States, Underwood & Underwood was among the first to market thematic boxed sets of stereoviews, sometimes accompanied by a guidebook.

In France, wooden boxes containing glass stereoviews were sold in the 1920s. These boxes typically contained 50, 100, or 200 stereoviews in the 45 x 107 format. The boxes with 100 and 200 views were supplied with a simple box-type stereoscope.
