Bloc-Omnium

Region: France    Period: 1890–1930    Tag: Bize

Le Bloc-Omnium is a simple multi-view stereoscope designed for viewing postcards in the 9 x 14 cm format. The name is related to L’Omnium by the same manufacturer. Le Bloc-Omnium was probably introduced at the same period.

Operation:
The mechanism is based on the fanfold concept. A stack of 100 paper stereoviews forms an accordion-folded strip. By turning the knobs, one card is lifted from the stack and positioned in front of the lenses. After viewing, the card is transported to the opposite side, where a new stack is formed.
