The Auto-Stéréoscope is a coin-operated stereoscope intended for use in public places. The viewer is fitted with an electric lamp to illuminate the stereoviews. Compared with later coin-operated stereoscopes, which often have a plainer appearance and were designed primarily for robustness, the viewer is attractively styled.
