Quirolo, Antonio

Antonio Quirolo was an inventor and possibly also a manufacturer of stereoscopes. He was based in New York City before later relocating to Hoboken, New Jersey. Between 1866 and 1874, Quirolo patented four stereoscope designs related to the Holmes-Bates stereoscope. His second patent, granted in 1872, was the first to describe a folding handle, a feature that would later become widely adopted in Holmes-Bates stereoscopes.
