Album Magique is a deluxe album stereoscope which, when closed, has the appearance of a book. When opened, the pages unfold and the viewer is brought into position. The viewer is mounted on a brass tongue that allows it to slide forwards and backwards for focusing. The pages consist of a cardboard plate and a frame between which a paper stereoview can be inserted.

The design of the Album Magique was patented in January 1862 by Louis François Saugrin, followed by an additional patent filing in July of that year.
