Mattey
The optician Victor Mattey founded his business in 1872. In 1902 he began, together with his son Albert Mattey, to focus on the manufacture of stereoscopes under the name Mattey père et fils. The company expanded through several acquisitions.
From 1912 onwards the business was continued by Albert and developed into one of the principal manufacturers of stereoscopes in France. Mattey sold its products under several brand names, including Unis France.
Albert died at the beginning of World War II. After the war, the company was continued by Albert’s children.
