The erotic postcards and stereoviews of Jean Agélou were distinguished by their high technical and artistic quality. Decorative elements and romantic backdrops helped to create an intimate atmosphere, while the models appeared relaxed and at ease before the camera. Several hundred women sat for him, many of whom were recruited from the theatres and nightclubs of Paris. The names of most remain unknown, but his most famous model is known as Miss Fernande.
