The Stéréoscope verre prismatique was listed in the 1894 catalogue of Wytenhove and was later continued by Mattey. The external design and the use of prism lenses, however, predate this and had already been employed by various manufacturers.
In the 1913 catalogue of Mattey, the viewer is available with prism lenses of various sizes and could be ordered in mahogany, rosewood, or thuya wood. The front panel containing the prism lenses can be opened.
