Semilens

Tags: Glossary / Optics

A semilens is a lens that is cut or formed from a portion of a full lens rather than being symmetrical around a central optical axis. In stereoscopes, semilenses are typically used in pairs, with each semilens offset laterally to direct the image toward the viewer’s eyes. Semilenses were used in early refracting stereoscopes.
