François Mathieu patented a simple wooden stereoscope with prism lenses. The rear consists of a lid with two hinge points into which the stereoview can be placed. The stereoview is positioned against the rear section, which is set at an angle of 90 degrees. The stereoscope folds completely closed for storage.
