Lithograph stereoview

A lithograph stereoview is produced using lithographic printing rather than photography. Instead of being created through a photographic process, the left and right images are printed from drawn, engraved, or otherwise prepared printing surfaces using lithographic techniques. When viewed through a stereoscope, the paired images create the illusion of depth in the same manner as photographic stereoviews.

Lithograph stereoviews were primarily used for inexpensive mass distribution or educational material. Compared with photographic stereoviews, they generally offered lower visual realism but were cheaper to produce and easier to reproduce in large quantities.
