The Stéréo-classeur Série II is a stereoscope for 6x13cm glass stereoviews, manufactured by Hemdé from Lille. The Série II stereoscopes were intended for stereo formats larger than 45x107mm. In addition to 6x13cm, the devices were also available in the formats 8,5x17cm, 7x15cm, 9x14cm and 10x15cm[1]. The last three formats are remarkable because these stereoview formats are rare.

Like the Série I, the Série II also includes a cabinet for storing slide trays. Unlike most other manufacturers, Hemdé made the trays from wood instead of bakelite.
The lenses of the stereoscope can be focused and the distance between the lenses is adjustable. The stereoviews can be viewed by turning the lever on the right. The images can be viewed in two directions by rotating clockwise or counterclockwise. On the left is a slider that allows to navigate to a specific stereoview.

On the front is a plaque with the address 9, rue Macquart. The company moved to this location in 1913 after the death of owner Paul Sorel. The stereoscope has serial number 352 and is in good condition. The mechanism works without any problems. The lever is probably not original.
